Updated: Nov 2, 2019

Crying?

Let's just face it your wedding day is a pretty big deal and every couple aspires for their wedding to be a picture-perfect affair. And, they leave no stone unturned to turn this dream into a reality. They look for the most exotic venue, hire the best vendors, select the most beautiful outfits, and everything else, which helps them to make their wedding truly memorable. No one wants to look back on their wedding day and regret their decision. Especially when it comes to hiring a Wedding Photographer! Well, when it's all said and done... The photos are all you have left to remember your day. We've gathered this list from real couples who shared their biggest regrets about hiring a wedding photographer. This article isn't in any way to scare you. Instead, we just want to help you make an informed decision about hiring a professional photographer for your big day. So, here are some common mistakes you must avoid, which most wedding couples make.

1- Budget Vs Quality.

Having a professional wedding photographer is possibly the best investment that you can make for the most important day of your life. Remember, even if you stretch your budget a bit more on other aspects, it will be forgotten once the wedding is over. However, what will stay with you forever would be your wedding photographs. You might have a limited budget, and there is nothing wrong with that. This still does not mean you need to compromise on the quality of the pictures. There are ways to work around a small budget. For one, I believe it is better to have a bunch of great pictures in the drawer than an album of mediocre images. Skip the album for now. Get the pictures and make an album later. Even if you make it a year later it is still fine. Relax and look at what is important. Focus on the quality of the photography rather than the products you get right now. The real value isn’t in the tangible goods but rather in the memories you get.

2- Overlooking Photographer's Personality.

Jump on a call or plan a meet-up to make sure you get along and enjoy their personality. The last thing you want is some weirdo following you around all day while you're trying to have a good time. Wanting to avoid your photographer won’t make for great photos.

there.

3- Not Asking For A Candid Photographer.

There are plenty of reasons to hire a candid photographer for your wedding. Because the Wedding ceremony is all about real moments. Moments of love, happiness, laughter, jokes, and emotions. And if you haven't hired a person to cover those moments. You missed the whole essence and real purpose of wedding photography. When hiring a photographer make sure you ask for a second shooter as a candid photographer. Believe me, you will count it as one of the best decisions you made for your wedding.

4- Not Following Finalized Schedule.

Don't assume it will only take 10 minutes for the photoshoot. Pay attention and respect the schedule that you and your photographer discussed prior to your wedding. Being an hour late can make or break your images. And on top of that, you hired 2 different teams... Well, that sounds like another mistake on our list.

5- Hiring Two Different Teams To Cover Both (Groom & Bride) Sides.

When you have two different teams to cover the same thing in that short time. Things get complicated not just for photographers but for couples as well as you have to give proper time to both teams plus there will be like 6 photographers on your heads to make portraits and candids. In the end, photographers were struggling with time & each other and none of them could make some quality shots. This is not only a waste of money but a waste of time too. Instead, the couple should hire a single team to cover both sides of the event may be adding an extra shooter. This will save your time, day and in the end you can divide overall money.

6- Waiting Until Last Moment To Hire The Photographer.

You have finalized your budget for photography and every other thing, finalized dates, and booked venue. However, you left booking a photographer. And then when you realize you still need to hire someone. The one you wished to hire is already booked. No matter what your budget is you should be booking your wedding photographer the moment you get your wedding date and venue confirmed. Photographers get bookings years before the day. So you wait until the last days and surprise they are booked.

So if You are going to get married, first of all, lots of wishes & have fun. And I hope this article will help you make your day memorable.
